It has been a frenetic couple of months here at Lazarus Polymers. Everybody has been pushing to get the delivery phase of our first facility over the line. Martin and his team from Salvtech (www.salvtech.com) have been hard at work on mechanical completion and snagging and our electrical engineers have been laying (what seems like) miles of cables in and around our site!
In the background, we have also been recruiting and mobilising for operations. We are absolutely committed to doing things the right way – from the start. So, our Operations Director, Phil Jennings, has been burning the midnight oil getting our policies, systems and procedures in place for the start of operations. Our first operational shift has joined us, with the second shift to be recruited in the coming weeks.
(L to R: Phil, Colin and Roy)
We are also proud to have been welcomed as members of the British Plastics Federation and we hope to make a positive contribution to the work of the BPF Recycling Group.
By next week we will be running the process and getting all the parameters optimised. Our goal is to generate two Renewed Raw Materials from waste that is currently landfilled – 100% recycled polyolefin pellets for use in the recycled plastic manufacturing sector and recovered paper fibre to be turned back into cardboard. Overall, we aim to divert from landfill or incineration about 80% of what we receive.
If you’re in the market for recycled polyolefin pellets, please give us a call. We’re confident we can help!
Check back soon for an update once we’re fully operational, and to see the time lapse video of our construction phase.
